Pre Production Mode

Pre Production Mode

Pre-production mode has been switched on this week as ASPIRE prepares for not one, not two, but three productions within the next week! It’s all hands on deck today because two of our wonderful primary schools have their school productions taking place this very evening!

Yesterday the ASPIRE team spent the day in Abermain for one final rehearsal with Abermain’s Holy Spirit Infants School! These young kids possess such wonderful talent and creativity, and I think the whole ASPIRE team can agree on that! I know you’re probably thinking but Sophie how would you know this? Doesn’t the intern only work Tuesdays and Thursdays? Well yes, my friends this is true.

Unfortunately, I did miss out on the Abermain visit yesterday, but I have certainly had a blast working with the students of Holy Spirit these past few months, they have been simply wonderful! And on that note, I would like to wish them a huge, good luck for the show tonight, and a huge congratulations for all the work they’ve put in to make it the show it is now! I can’t wait for all your parents to see how much you’ve accomplished.

It’s a quiet one in the office today, just Annie and I. The rest of the team are at Holy Cross Primary School Glendale today, because believe it or not, their show is also tonight! While I haven’t had the chance to work with these kids, I know that with the support of our team and their school their performance will be equally as wonderful, and so I wish them also a massive, good luck and congratulations!

If you’re wondering why I’m writing this blog about all hands on deck when my hands aren’t currently on either of those decks, please, do not be concerned. I’m very busy working at the office because in only 6 sleeps it is our Junior Theatre Maker’s turn to shine under the spotlight! I am beyond excited for my group to perform, having had the opportunity to work with a talented group of kids, collaborate on a script then have them perform it still hasn’t sunk in! I’m, so grateful to be a part of this experience and I can’t wait for my group and the other groups to perform some amazing, unique pieces of theatre!

It’s time for me to get back to work on the lighting and sound components of my script, so until next time,

Intern Sophie
