DioSounds

I’m back!

It’s week seven here at Aspire, which means DioSounds week!

I’m currently sitting in the auditorium of the Civic Theatre watching St Mary’s Catholic College, Gateshead soundcheck and rehearse their numbers on stage. Vibes are high right now as excitement builds for the big performance, only one more sleep away!

Tomorrow night, secondary schools from all over our diocese come together to put on a terrific performance on the stage of the one and only Civic Theatre. Each school performs two to three numbers showcasing their insanely talented musicians, vocalists, and for some schools even dancers have gotten involved!

This week the Aspire crew have spent every day at the Civic Theatre preparing for the big night. Each day four schools come in to practice on the stage before their big moment. I’ve been blown away by the talent of each school, the standard has been set very high this year!

I can confidently say that I have been entertained and amazed by each and every single number, so a big congratulations to every single student participating. And of course, your teachers who have made your visions come to life, what an excellent job they have done!

Since we’ve still got one more sleep until the big show and I know suspense is building, we have filmed a teeny tiny bit of each schools performance to show you how awesome rehearsals have been. Our brilliant design director Lara has been uploading stories to our Instagram page, so make sure to head over there to check it out! And of course, a blog wouldn’t be a blog without some behind the scenes photos, so I have done my very best to take some shots of our shiny stars taking the stage.

See you all in week nine, at the end of term!
