Are You Ready For It?

Here we are, already at the end of term 2. For our annual production ‘Disconnected’, this means only four weeks until production week!

So, are you ready for it?

The ASPIRE crew are certainly getting ready for it, with holiday rehearsals rapidly approaching we mean business. We were very excited for the arrival of our costumes last week, and sorting them was a lot more time consuming and took a lot more people than I had ever expected!

Production meetings, mic charts and all sorts of behind the scenes shenanigans are taking place while ASPIRE is still managing to run all their other programs. Young Actors Program, Voiceworx, and school visits are just the start of ASPIRE’s work away from disconnected.

Speaking of school visits, Lara our design director has been working on a gorgeous mural at St James Primary School, Kotara South, and this week I’m going for my second visit to help out. Lara and the classes working on the mural have done the most amazing job, and I cannot wait to see the finished product!

This week we look forward to running Act 2 of ‘Disconnected’. Seeing the show come together for the very first time certainly brings a sense of excitement to the air. I didn’t see the run of Act 1 last week, so I for one am very excited to see such a talented cast bring all their individual ensemble work together!

I will be sure to report back after our school holiday rehearsals (how crazy is that, they’ve crept up so fast!)
