Let's Do It One More Time!

Here we are, term 4! Lets do it one more time!

I want to start this blog by thanking my amazing Junior Theatre Makers group! Your performance was entertaining, comedic and captivating, and I could not be more proud of you. I loved every moment of the rehearsal process leading up to the big night, the brainstorming, devising, creation and polishing of the script.

A huge congratulations also to the other three groups who performed on the night, my group and I loved having the opportunity to see what other groups had created. Together, the four pieces created a lovely show.

On Tuesday was the first rehearsal for senior theatre makers, which will be a roughly fifty minute performance with just one bigger group of students in years nine to twelve. We did some excellent brainstorming and devising work in our first session held here at the Catholic Schools Office, I already know it will be a wonderful piece.

Speaking of pieces, here’s a little hint about what we worked on this week. Is there a difference between piece and peace, and is one more important?

This week and next week the performances for ASPIRE’s young scriptwriters program are happening which is very exciting for all of our upcoming writers! Lauren, Lara and I have had fun this week running around with weird lists of props (and definitely getting some strange looks from workers at market town). Luke and Anna have been at the theatre with our writers and their actors, rehearsing and putting on amazing performances.

I look forward to continuing with Senior Theatre Makers and other exciting projects happening this term.

Talk to you next fortnight!
