Guess Whose Back!!!!

Guess whose back?... back again??.... intern Pat.

Time for my second blog, it came around quickly… I must be working hard. My avid readers will be happy to know that my reverse parallel parking and my endless battle to secure a spot around the office hasn’t ceased. It is a rare occasion that I will get a park that where I can just drive straight in, no reversing, no nonsense, no worries. However, on the morning I’m writing this I managed to get myself a park right out the front as someone was leaving.

Another week, another morning tea attended and cake demolished. I enjoyed sitting in on a production meeting with the team this week in which I learnt a lot more about the ins and outs of theatre and the intricacies of putting on a production. It’s a very humbling feeling sitting in a room surrounded by people who work tirelessly to make you look good on stage but who don’t get to take a bow showered by applause at the end of the show. The expertise and obvious skill that those in that room had was an excellent opportunity for me to learn and engage more with what it takes to perform a show at the Civic Theatre Newcastle.

Once again I’ve thoroughly enjoyed meandering around rehearsals learning more and more about each ensemble and how they all work. I was quite impressed by the band at the most recent rehearsal. With quite a young group of musicians I think they have rallied quite well this year and are making some really good sounding stuff. Dance is at their usual best, I sat in and watched some flippy over the arms stuff which was beyond anything I could do so hats off to you once again dance. Vocal are sounding good as always and the sounds are sounding energetic and fun as well. Senior drama are in their tedious preparation for character auditions this week so they’re working hard and collaborating with each other which was wonderful to see. The design group were up to their usual antics, there are some really interesting and unique designs coming out of the group which I’m sure are going to make the cast look great.

Thank you for making it to the end of another blog, if you keep reading them, I’ll keep writing them. I hope to see you all in 153 days when ASPIRE hits the stage for its 12th year.

An Enthusiastic and well fed.
