And the Winner Is ........

And the winners are… St Pius X High School Adamstown, tied with St Joeseph’s High School Lochinvar!

Congratulations to these two talented schools on their extraordinary performances at theatre sports last Thursday!

Theatre sports has always been one of my favourite days of the year, but this year it was ten times more exciting because I had the pleasure of being on the judging panel! It was incredible to see so many kids participating this year, the atmosphere could only be described as electric. With eight high schools participating competition was fierce, and it could have easily been anyone’s game. I was judging the entertainment of each performance, and I’ll have you know I was very entertained.

ASPIRE's progress as apart of the ANZAC event is tracking along nicely. Dialogue is in the process of being written for the drama components, and the physical theatre is looking out of this world! I am already looking forward to rehearsals this week. Hard work and positivity is certainly in the air as show day grows closer!

And of course, I cannot forget to update you on the big show! I’ll try not to give too much away as I am certain you are all on the edge of your seats, already waiting for performance week. What I will let you in on though, is that the show in progress is something that you will not want to miss. Dance is powering through an insane amount of choreography as usual, already creating such incredible, clean choreography. Although I must admit, vocals and band are starting to give the dancers a run for their money, powering through a number of songs and creating some pretty impressive sounds. Design have been making some pretty cool and realistic props for the show, already working very hard to ensure they can be rehearsed with as soon as possible.

I hope that you, my dear reader have enjoyed this blog just as much as I have enjoyed this past fortnight as the ASPIRE intern. I have been working so hard that I am writing a whole day early, so this blog is as fresh and new as ever.

Until next time,

Sophie.
