ASPIRE PRODUCTION ENSEMBLE
This Ensemble is designed for students from Year 9 and upwards in our diocese with an interest in the technical and production aspects of theatre. Working under the direction of respected industry professional Loretta Foster, students will experience a range of opportunities including but not limited to sound, lighting, props, set, costume, and scene-change (backstage) crew.
If you are studying Entertainment you can obtain additional units of competency to complete the full Certificate 3 in Live Production. To acquire this, you need to attend the dates listed below and complete the required assessment tasks.
Interested students are encouraged to complete the online application form to register their interest (http://aspire.mn.catholic.edu.au.) Selection for the ensemble will be by interview. Loretta Foster has worked as a stage manager since graduating with a Bachelor of Creative Arts in technical production in 1992. She began her career as resident stage manager for Peter and Ellen Williams at the Playhouse: Sydney Opera House. Her professional engagements include The Really Useful Theatre Company, The Ensemble Theatre, The Short Shakespeare Company, The Sydney 2000 Olympics Ceremonies, NAISDA Dance College and Sport for Jove. Loretta currently works as a Theatre Technician for Central Coast Council and maintains a busy schedule of professional production contracts. A qualified and experienced industry trainer and assessor, Loretta is experienced in delivering the HSC Entertainment course and the Certificate 3 in Live Production and Services at a wide variety of schools. Loretta currently also teaches at NIDA in the Diploma of Live Production and Technical Services.
