Lisa Little is the Executive Officer of ASPIRE and is often referred to as the mother of the program.
Lisa’s passion for the arts and providing an opportunity to extend this gift to students beyond the school setting was the key motivation for ASPIRE and provided the impetus and initial scope for the ASPIRE program 10 years ago.
Lisa has been an educator for over 35 years and has taught in Australia, the USA and Canada. Her expertise and passion has always been in the creative arts with her own background and university study initially in Art and Drama. She is also an accomplished pianist.
For 17 of those years, Lisa was a Head Teacher Creative and Performing Arts within the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle where she taught Visual Arts, Music and Drama and was also involved in producing, writing and directing musicals, pieces of theatre and school productions. In 2010, she joined the Catholic Schools Office and works across all schools in the area of school improvement.
Lisa enjoys working on the design aspects and look of ASPIRE and is actively involved in the graphic design and stage design elements of the production. The management and promotion of ASPIRE and growing the ASPIRE brand is also high on her agenda. She feels privileged to work with such a great team who continue to lift the bar every year and is excited for what lies ahead with the expansion of the program.
